Services
Out of Phase provides repair, maintenance, setup, restoration, electronic repairs, fretwork, restringing, and other guitar-related services. All work is carried out with sensible care and skill.
Estimates and Quotations
Any quotation or estimate provided is based on the information available at the time of inspection.
Occasionally, additional issues may become apparent once work has begun. If further work is required that would significantly affect the original quotation, we will contact you for approval before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.
Repair completion times are estimates only and may vary depending on the complexity of the work, availability of replacement parts, or unforeseen circumstances.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers confirm that they are the legal owner of the instrument or have the owner's permission to authorise repairs.
Customers should notify us of any known faults, previous repairs, modifications, or other information that may affect the repair.
Payment
Once repair work has been completed, an invoice will be issued.
Payment must be made by bank transfer before the instrument is collected.
Ownership of any replacement parts supplied by Out of Phase remains with the business until full payment has been received.
Collection of Instruments
Customers will be notified when their instrument is ready for collection.
We ask that completed repairs are collected within a reasonable period after notification.
If an instrument remains uncollected for an extended period and we are unable to contact the customer despite reasonable efforts, storage charges may be applied. Where permitted by law, instruments left uncollected for a prolonged period may eventually be treated as abandoned after reasonable notice has been given.
Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our workmanship.
Unless otherwise stated, repair workmanship is warranted for 15 days from the date of collection. This warranty covers defects directly resulting from the repair work carried out by Out of Phase.
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, or improper storage.
- Environmental factors such as changes in humidity or temperature.
- Damage caused by subsequent modifications or repairs carried out by another party.
- Faults unrelated to the original repair.
Replacement parts are covered only by any warranty offered by their manufacturer where applicable.
Limitation of Liability
We will take reasonable care of all instruments while they are in our possession.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Subject to the above, our liability for any claim arising from the services provided shall be limited to the amount paid for the relevant repair service.
Replacement Parts
Where replacement parts are required, suitable components will be used based on availability, compatibility, and the requirements of the repair.
Any customer-supplied parts are fitted at the customer's request. We cannot guarantee the performance, suitability, or reliability of customer-supplied components.
Refusal of Service
We reserve the right to decline work where:
- A repair is considered uneconomical.
- The requested work cannot be completed safely.
- Suitable replacement parts are unavailable.
- The requested work would compromise the integrity or safety of the instrument.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We collect only the information necessary to communicate with customers, carry out repairs, issue invoices, and comply with legal obligations.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
